FULTON, NY – Douglas C. Bowers, 55, of Fulton, passed away on Friday April 6, 2018 at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse.
He was born on April 2, 1963 in Fulton, a son to the late Robert Bowers and JoAnne (Salsbury) Bowers. He attended Fulton Schools and was a graduate of G. Ray Bodley High School.
Doug was formally employed at Southern Graphics in Phoenix, NY. He served many years in the volunteer fire service. He served in Granby Center Volunteer Fire Department and Minetto Volunteer Fire Department. Doug was an avid fisherman, which was one of his favorite things to do.
Doug will be greatly missed and forever loved by his wife of 24 years, the former Deborah Huckaby, daughter Samantha Bowers, son Ben Bowers, mother, JoAnne (Salsbury) Bowers, siblings, Robert (Donna), Thomas (Lisa), Michael, James (Millie), his aunts, uncles and cousins, and many many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father Robert Bowers on April 8, 2015.
A memorial service will be held at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, located at 923 Cayuga St. Hannibal, NY on Friday April 13, at 10am. A celebration of Doug’s life will take place at the Granby Center Volunteer Fire Department immediately following the church services.
