Eugene H. Lawton, 85, passed away on Wednesday July 17, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Philadelphia, PA on December 23, 1933 to the late Howard and Dorothea Lawton.
Eugene served in in the United States Marine Corps for four years before entering the Army National Guard from which he retired. He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Eugene worked as a mason for Clinton Refractory in Syracuse.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing tennis and spending time with his family.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Barbara (Landers) Lawton in 1991.
Eugene is survived by his siblings, Helen McKeever, Patricia King, and Hazel Sakowski; children, Howard Lawton, Colleen (Jeffrey) Davis, Cindy (Richard) Vose and Cathleen (Stanley) Webster; 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
As per Eugene’s wishes, his body was donated to science. There will be no calling hours or services.
Donations may be made in Eugene’s memory to Hospice of Central New York or the American Heart Association.
