Jo E. Smith 41, of Fulton, NY passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024 at home. Jo was born in Port Jervis, NY to parents John S Mason and Jill Cherry Mason on November 27th, 1983.

Jo was the Deputy City Clerk of the City of Fulton, a career to which she was extremely dedicated. Jo loved everything about nature and the great outdoors. Jo also had a huge place in her heart for canine friends and has raised many seeing eye dog puppies in the past.

Jo is survived by her husband, Nathan P. Smith; her daughter Molly E. Smith; parents, John and Jill Mason of Port Jervis NY; two sisters Jenny Mason (life partner Brian Pederson) of Graham, NC and Jessica Mason Scheid (Brian Scheid) of Fort Worth TX; her beloved nephew and nieces Chandler and Emma Walkenbach, Haley and Shannon Scheid, Hollyn Pederson and her entire "City of Fulton Work Family".  Also surviving are her dog Sheldon and Mercedes the horse.

Jo was predeceased by her Grandparents Robert G. Mason and Alice Dewey-Mason, Edwin P. Cherry and Janet Ellison-Cherry.

A celebration of life will be held in the community room of the Fulton City Hall, 141 South 1st Street, Fulton, NY, on Sunday January 5th from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to seeingeye.org.
