Michael D. Bowers

Michael D. Bowers, 61, passed away on February 6, 2023, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on January 23, 1962, at A. L. Lee Memorial Hospital in Fulton, NY, to Robert and JoAnn (Salsbury) Bowers.

Mike graduated from G. Ray Bodley High School in 1980.  In his younger years he worked on his aunt and uncle’s dairy farm in Scriba as well as at Brannan’s Dairy Farm in Fulton, NY.  He was also a delivery driver for Hudson’s Dairy.  He retired from Mercer Milling in 2019 where he was a tractor trailer driver, and loved visiting different farms around the state.

Mike was a life member, past chief, and EMT for the Granby Center Fire Department.  He enjoyed spending as much time as he could with his children and especially his grandsons; hunting, fishing, taking day trips with his wife Rose, watching old westerns, and gardening in his raised beds. He loved living in the country where he once enjoyed having a hobby farm.  He loved anything to do with farming. 

Mike was predeceased by his father Robert Bowers; and his brother Douglas Bowers.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemarie (Symonds) Bowers; children, Jennifer (Zachary) Swanson, Ashley Bowers, William (Kaylee Blackmer) Bowers, and Emily Bowers; stepchildren, Roseanne Osborne and Douglas (Stacey) Osborne; grandsons Bentley Bowers and Alexander Swanson; brothers, Robert G. (Donna) Bowers, Thomas F. (Lisa) Bowers, and James R. (Millie) Bowers; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Mike at the Granby Center Fire Department located at 1400 County Route 8, Fulton, NY 13069,  on Saturday February 25, 2023,  from 1 pm to 5 pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Granby Center Fire Department.
