Michael A. Treasure, 59, of Sterling, lost his battle to colon cancer on Saturday July 20, 2024. He was the son to the late Carl and Charlotte (McGinley) Treasure. He is predeceased by his brother, Wayne Swick, and his sister, Deborah (Swick) Reves. He is survived by his wife, Kelly (George) Treasure of Hannibal; two daughters, Veronika (Jesse) Southard of Hannibal, and Trish (John) Treasure of Payson, AZ; one son, Mitchell Treasure of Oswego; step daughter, Brooke (Chad) Kingsley of Hannibal; sister, Donna (Donald) Venton of Fulton; brother, David (Martha) Swick; sister, Judy (Jack) Flynn of Fulton; brother, Mark (Sharon) Treasure of Hannibal; brother, Jeff Treasure of Sterling; grandchildren, Dakoda, Skyler, Aieronna, Aurora, Chase, Maddison; great grandchildren, Kai, Gabriella, Liam; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Michael worked a variety of jobs. He worked for Roth Brothers Smelting Corp. in Syracuse, Burritt Motors in Oswego as a detailer, Walmart in Oswego as an overnight stocker, WB Mason in Syracuse as a driver, Champlain Valley Specialties in Oswego, Fulton Taxi, and his last job, delivering auto parts for Unted Auto Supply in Fulton.
Michael loved 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s rock n’ roll music. He enjoyed going to concerts. He loved to listen to his brother’s band practice, as well as listening to his daughter and granddaughter sing karaoke. He had an oversized slot car track that he had built with his son that he enjoyed. He enjoyed watching the NY Mets, NY Jets, and NASCAR racing with his brother Jeff. He liked racing RC cars with his grandson Chase, playing the guitar, fishing, riding bikes and campfires.
James A. Menter Funeral Home has care of arrangements. At Michael’s request, there will be no calling hours. A celebration of life will be held for the family at a later date.
